DAY 1 – MON - JOHANNESBURG - MPUMALANGA Depart from your Sandton hotel and travel via Witbank, Belfast and Lydenburg, over the Long Tom Pass into the small village of Pilgrim’s Rest, where the richest alluvial gold deposits in South Africa were discovered.
DAY 2 – TUES - MPUMALANGA Travel along the Panorama Route visiting Blyde River Canyon (one of the natural wonders of Africa), God’s Window and Bourke’s Luck Potholes before arriving at your destination on the outskirts of Hazyview. [BD]
DAY 3 - WED - KRUGER PARK Spend the day in the Kruger National Park. The park covers an area of about 21 500km² with many opportunities to see the Big Five. Optional (for own account) full day game drive in an open safari vehicle is available. [BD]
DAY 4 - THURS - MPUMALANGA - ZULULAND VIA SWAZILAND Travel through Swaziland visiting the Ngwenya Glass factory and stop for some traditional souvenirs. Continue into KwaZulu-Natal to your overnight destination. [B]
DAY 5 – FRI - ZULULAND - DURBAN Enjoy breakfast at your hotel or an optional (for own account) boat cruise in the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park. An optional (for own account) open safari vehicle game drive is also available. Enjoy a short city orientation tour of Durban before arriving at your hotel. [B]
DAY 6 – SAT - DURBAN - DRAKENSBERG Head into the Great Drakensberg Mountains. This route is extremely scenic and passes through many areas of magnificent beauty. Visit the Himeville Museum en route to your overnight accommodation. [B]
DAY 7 – SUN - DRAKENSBERG Full day at leisure to enjoy the wonderful views of the magnificent southern Drakensberg Mountains. Optional (for own account) 4x4 adventure tour up Sani Pass and into Lesotho is available (passport required). [B]
DAY 8 – MON - DRAKENSBERG - WILD COAST An early departure leaves you with a view of the beautiful Sani Pass region. Make your way to the former Transkei region on the Wild Coast for overnight. [BD]
DAY 9 – TUES - WILD COAST - PORT ELIZABETH After breakfast head to the Eastern Cape. Pass through Umtata and visit the Mandela Museum on our way to East London. After lunch (for own account) stop in Grahamstown, known for its elegant 19th century architecture. Arrive at your hotel late afternoon. [B]
DAY 10 – WED - GARDEN ROUTE After breakfast travel towards the Garden Route, stopping at Storms River where photographic opportunities abound. Enjoy lunch at a wine estate (for own account). Arrive at your overnight destination. [B]
DAY 11 – THURS - GARDEN ROUTE Full day at leisure. Optional (for own account) full day tour to Knysna Waterfront where you will head towards the Western Head and enter the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Lunch (included). On the way back to your hotel stop for an interactive experience at the Knysna Elephant Park. [B]
DAY 12 – FRI - GARDEN ROUTE - OUDTSHOORN Travel to Oudtshoorn via George and the Outeniqua Pass. Visit an Ostrich farm and enjoy a guided tour of the Cango Caves. Visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch and Valley of Ancients and endangered species for a glimpse of endangered animals in a safe environment. Overnight in Oudtshoorn. [B]
DAY 13 – SAT - OUDTSHOORN - CAPE TOWN Depart Oudtshoorn for Cape Town travelling via Route 62, passing through Montagu, Robertson and Worcester. Arrive in Cape Town late afternoon. [B]
DAY 14 – SUN - CAPE TOWN (UNESCORTED) Full day at leisure in the “Mother City”. Optional (for own account) full day Cape Point Tour available. Sights of this tour include: Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens; Cape Point Reserve; the funicular (for own account) to Cape Point; the penguin colony (optional for own account) and Chapman’s Peak (subject to the road being open). [B]
DAY 15 – MON - CAPE TOWN (UNESCORTED) Day at leisure (unescorted) till transfer to Cape Town Airport in time for your homebound flight. [B]
